Some Common Problems and Solutions for People Who Wear Eyeglasses

The use of eyeglasses is increasing at a rapid speed. There are many reasons behind this increase. The most common reason is the rapid increase in eyesight problems. In addition to that, people are now getting more aware than ever about the benefits eyeglasses provide along with vision correction.

Blue light blocking glasses, safety glasses, and sunglasses to protect eyes from various risks, along with having a good vision for a long time, are commonly used by people these days. And that’s not all. Fashion enthusiasts and celebrities also use eyeglasses as a fashion statement. Designer eyewear like Persol prescription glasses, Gucci sunglasses, or eyewear by Prada are in huge demand all around the world.

Many optic stores such as Overnight Glasses, Zenni Optical, Warby Parker, Glasses USA, etc., are now providing all types of eyewear that include all the above-mentioned types of eyeglasses.

But, there is something that only regular eyeglass users are aware of. That’s the problems associated with regular usage of eyeglasses.

Some of the problems and their solutions for people who wear eyeglasses or spectacles are discussed below:

Scratches on Lenses

Eyeglass lenses are either made with glass or plastic. So, definitely, they need a lot of care. They can easily get scratches from the surfaces where they are placed. Hence, the glasses having scratches will result in not getting the fine and perfect image. If the image is not clear, it can cause serious problems such as a danger of a car accident if the driver is wearing glasses with scratches.

The solution to this problem is just to take care of the glasses. We should use a safe cover for the glasses. It will be better if the covering is hard on the outside but soft on the inside. We should try to put the glasses all the time in the covering whenever we are not wearing them.

Glasses can slip and slide

If you are a regular user of eyeglasses, you must have faced this problem somewhere during your eyeglass usage. It usually happens if your eyeglass is not a good fit. Another reason is the loosening of temples due to prolonged usage.

If you want to find out a solution to this problem, you first have to find out the reason. If the reason is an improper fit, then you need to change the size of your frame. On the other hand, if your eyeglass was once a perfect fit and just started slipping down a few months back, then the reason might be curved or loosened temples. It indicates that you need to get a new pair of eyeglasses or simply change the frame with the same lenses.

Forgetting where you kept your eyeglasses

It might sound weird, but we, the regular eyewear users, know very well how irritating it is. Most people forget their eyeglasses here or there, and then they have to spend hours finding them. I sometimes wish my eyeglasses had an alarm or the ‘find my device’ mechanism just like my mobile. Just a call and Tadaa!

But, unfortunately, this is not the case. One solution to this problem is getting a neck string for eyeglasses. You can take them off without getting them lost. Another solution is developing a habit of keeping your eyeglasses in your front pocket. Never make the mistake of putting them in your jeans’ pockets, or you are going to lose them forever.

Reflection from the sun

The sunlight and its reflection is often very irritable for the people who use spectacles. This reflective glare from the sun can also be the cause of headaches and blurred vision, and if left untreated, this problem can increase with the passage of time.

The use of polarized eyeglasses can help avoid this problem. UV blocking glasses are good for using outdoor, but they do not provide anti-glare protection. Polarized glasses have an anti-glare coating that reduces the glare caused by rays reflecting from flat surfaces such as water, road, or snow. Hence, polarized glasses are the best choice for outdoor use.

Conclusion

It doesn’t matter whether you wear your eyeglasses as a necessity to correct your vision, for safety purposes while going out, or just to look cool. What really matters is that you feel comfortable while your eyeglasses are on. If you face or have been facing any of the above mentioned problems due to your eyeglasses, hopefully, they will be resolved after trying the suggested solutions.
