Six Cute & Lazy Winter Hairstyles

Winter brings us shorter days, lower temperatures, and perhaps a few more excuses to hit the snooze button in the morning. But with styled hair (and maybe a touch of makeup), it’s easy to look primped in just a few minutes. Here are six of our favorite hairstyles for a lazy, but fashionable winter.

Top Knot

The beauty of the top knot hairstyle is that it looks utterly gorgeous, yet suggests that you rolled out of bed with your hair looking that way. To achieve this style:

– Pull all of your hair up to the top of your head and loop it through an elastic to make a messy bun.

– Tug on the bun from every direction to make it as big as possible.

– Pin sections of the bun to your head to hold it in place and shape it as needed.

– Tame any frizz or flyaways around your face with brow gel (it gives a more natural look than hairspray), and then pull out a few small sections of hair around your face to soften the style.

Messy Bun with Side Bangs

Similar to the top knot, the messy bun allows you to have that rolled-out-of-bed-beautiful-without-even-trying look. To achieve this super casual and cute hairstyle, blow dry your bangs as you normally would. Then, follow the instructions for the top=knot, above.

Angled Bob

Planning on chopping your hair? Consider the angled bob! This cut is a chic hairstyle in and of itself. The key to this style is in the blow-drying. After washing your hair, blow-dry it by brushing it against the shape of your head from different directions. This technique helps your hair dry into a style by creating shape and volume. Added bonus: Depending on your hair type, this style can last you a couple days (or longer, especially with the help of dry shampoo!).

bow

Hair Bow

The bow style is adorable any time of year, but when coupled with a festive outfit, it transforms you into a perfectly-wrapped holiday gift. To replicate this look:

– Take a section of hair from each side of your head and loop it through a rubber band to create a bun.

– Separate the bun into two sections and pin each side to your head.

– Take a section from the tail end of your bun and wrap it around the rubber band to conceal it.

 Puffy High Ponytail

Send out vibes of glamour and edge with this simple style. To master the puffy high ponytail:

– Tease the section of hair at the top of your head to give it volume, starting with smaller sections and working your way up to larger sections.

– Once you’ve achieved the volume you’re looking for, secure it with some hairspray and bobby pins.

– Put the rest of your hair up into a high ponytail.

Fishtail Braid

The fishtail braid looks complicated, but is actually quite simple to achieve. While hair extensions can be your friend here, the braid can look equally stunning with your own natural, long hair. To create a fishtail braid:

– Pull all of your hair over one shoulder.

– Section off the length of your hair into three parts and start braiding it.

– Use a clear elastic to tie off your braid, leaving at least two or three inches of hair at the end.

– Tug the hair in the braid to make it look fuller.
