fashionmodelTell us about yourself and what you do
My name is Marinella Iordan but my friends call me Marlene. What should you know about me? For starters, I’ll tell you more about who I am as a person and let you in on my daily routine. First of all, you should know I’m very ambitious and I don’t give up easily. I’m also an optimist and very understanding in nature. Making others happy makes me happy. Everyday I try to make someone smile because I believe a nice smile is the most charming part of a person.

I’m currently in the 12th grade and continuing studies in economics. More then anything, though, I want to be a successful model. I always have a smile on my face knowing that I have a goal for my life for which I’ll do everything to make a reality!

Who has inspired you in your life and why?
Like anyone, I have a role model that inspires me in what I do. That person for me is the ever famous Marilyn Monroe. Her way of ”being,” the fire in her eyes and her charming smile have inspired me a lot in my journey in the modeling world. That’s why you’ll usually see me smiling in my pictures.

What is your greatest achievement so far?
The biggest moment for me since entering into the world of modeling until now must be the day when I participated in the Miss Moldova 2011 contest. I was only 14 at the time and was one of over 700 contestants. I was one of the top 25 finalists. It was my first time on stage, emotions were high but despite it all I made it to the next level. After this contest, other beauty pageants followed as well as fashion shows and photo-shoots. For example, later that year, at the ”Miss Fashion TV 2011” I took second place as well as the title ”Miss Photogenic.”

When I model, I feel like I’m most happiest, where I should be and that everything is right as it should be.

Do you have any tips for our readers that are trying to break in the industry?
For readers who want to be a part of the industry, I would advise them first and foremost to have faith in themselves. Faith in oneself is the most empowering attribute one can have. When someone believes in themselves and in what they do then nothing else matters anymore.

Ambition and lots of it is necessary as success happens when you can go from failure to failure without loosing your enthusiasm.

You can’t be an optimist in the real world without positive thinking because different, sometimes challenging, situations arise in life but a smile and a good thought always help you move through them.
Finally, you have to have passion for what you do whether you are presenting, making a photo-shoot or participating in a beauty pageant. Always be passionate.

Wishing you lots and lots of success!

Marlene
