Its not a high paid doddle as many people think, the public don’t see the countless hours of writing, recording in the studio, sleeping here there and everywhere between shows, its seriously hard work, and if you’re not going to put that in, someone else is!

He Said “ They kept this industry real and I respect that, anyone who writes music, strives to create something new and different and isn’t afraid to go against the norm has my respect. Its not a high paid doddle as many people think, the public don’t see the countless hours of writing, recording in the studio, sleeping here there and everywhere between shows, its seriously hard work, and if you’re not going to put that in, someone else is! Music requires that extra bit of passion, without that you’re not going to stand out from the crowd. The artists we work with are all hungry for it and know nothing else than the music they’re making.”
So far, Jakes music and projects he has been involved with have gained over 22,000,000 downloads / streams. Along with performing on the same stages as Prince and Stevie Wonder and writing one of the most sought after soundtracks of the year. Its clear to see why his opinion is beginning to matter to so many.
His advice for readers that want to make it in the music industry:
“Write and perform music YOU love and that you believe in, not what you think other people will love. Don’t be scared to be different and go against the majority, because that’s when the truly special something is created. Most importantly though, keep it real. If you listen back to one of your own tracks and can’t connect to it, how can you expect someone else too? Good things and special things take time, so don’t rush. Persistence is key, if you believe in something and want it enough, you’ll get there. Just try not to take to many opinions of your craft to heart.
