Interview with The Republic of Carthage

Carthage

We’re building a network of intellectual entrepreneurs in over 10 nations who truly believe in bridging the world through creating mutual understanding instead of wars and wealth instead of greed.

How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea emerged in 2010. We all know about ancient Rome and Greece, but most of us never heard about ancient Carthage, the country of Hannibal, Queen Dido, and others. The first republic on the face of the Earth that extended from its center, what is now called Tunisia in North Africa, all the way East to Greece and West to Spain and Portugal. This was the single place on Earth where color, ethnicity, language, or religion, didn’t matter at all.

Our nonprofit, Republic of Carthage, dreams about reviving that model and uses technology and AI to achieve its mission.

What is your mission? What has been your greatest achievement so far?
The Republic of Carthage organization is an international nonprofit aiming to unite people regardless of their differences through two major actions:

One: the emphasis on their ancient, pre-Islamic/Christian, common heritage. People back then used the same alphabet (Carthaginian Canaanite), ate the same food, intermarried, etc… A fascinating heritage that shaped our entire modern society, but most people today aren’t aware of that.

Two: We’re building a network of intellectual entrepreneurs in over 10 nations who truly believe in bridging the world through creating mutual understanding instead of wars and wealth instead of greed.

Some of our achievement are:

We’re launching a virtual university, CarthageUniversity.com, to connect people around the globe through learning each other’s languages and cultures for free. This site also provides high quality elearning courses to enable young artists and authors to succeed internationally.

We’re also about to launch the “first embassy of Carthage”, CarthageEmbassy.com, in Q3 of this year. An online platform that helps travel and hospitality businesses in Tunisia, Algeria, Libra, Morocco, Egypt, Malta, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and Spain, as well others, to create beneficial partnerships and alliances.

Another thing worth mentioning here is that we just created a fantastic movie script that got certified from the library of congress and we’re collaborating with a Hollywood production company to use it to produce the first large movie ever about this forgotten republic: Hanna of Carthage (CarthageMovie.com). Hopefully, this movie is going to be created by collaborating with the Tunisian government.

What’s your best advice for other entrepreneurs who are starting a business?

Be yourself! Never stop dreaming big and never stop thinking outside of the box. Things may seem hard, and even impossible, at first.. but like Hannibal once said: I will either find a way or make one.

So always wither find or make your way!
