My music is about love, the great, the good, the bad, and the ugly, all aspects of love. That’s what I’m about.
What do you like most about your profession?
The ability to touch people. Knowing that someone I might never meet has been affected by my music is humbling.
What’s your favorite album from another artist?
That’s a tough one. In terms of current artist it’s either Janelle Monae’s “The Electric Lady” Or Kendrick Lamar’s “GKMC”. In terms of older albums my answer probably changes by the day (laughs).
What song of yours are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of my first song that I did in college. It wasn’t very good, but it was my start, a learning experience, and I’ll always be proud of it because it shows me how much I’ve grown through the years.
What is the formula for success in the music industry?
I don’t know if there is a formula per say. It sounds cliche but I think it all comes down to being true to yourself as an artist and continuing to evolve. The greats continued to blaze their own trails instead of following someone else’s.
