Interview with singer and songwriter Amanda

One of my biggest achievements or at least a moment that really stands out to me is without doubt the first night I performed on tour at Wembley.

Tell us about yourself and what you do
I’m a singer / songwriter, I was born and raised in the North of England in a tiny village. I’ve been singing and writing songs since I was 4 years old. I don’t remember my life ever without music as the focus.

Who has inspired you in your life and why?
I’m inspired everyday by different artists, I love going down the rabbit hole and finding new artists online. But honestly right now I’ve been most inspired by those who are going to work on the front lines everyday during the COVID-19 pandemic. Just the thought of these people going to work everyday to help us, whether it be nurses, doctors, grocery store workers etc I just feel so grateful for their selflessness. They’re putting their own lives at risk for their commitment to our well-being. It’s truly amazing.

What is your greatest achievement so far?
One of my biggest achievements or at least a moment that really stands out to me is without doubt the first night I performed on tour at Wembley. That was a life long dream of mine and to achieve that felt incredible.

Do you have any tips for our readers that are trying to break in the industry?
Perseverance is so important, for every 500 “No’s”, there is always 1 “Yes” waiting. I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve had a knock back and thought “This it it, it’s over”. At times it made me second guess myself or question everything I was doing. But now I’ve learned to take them on the chin and keep it moving! Music is such a subjective industry and you’ve got to be OK with knowing that your music isn’t for everybody but there are also going to be people who really connect with what you’re doing and that’s the beauty of it.

What are you working on right now?
I just wrapped up my next EP “Mood Swings” which is due for release in June. It explores a contrasting mellow sound to anything I have released in the past. Its a down-tempo chill vibe blending alternative pop with slightly left of center RnB. I feel like its an honest, exploration of the different emotions we go through in love, one minute your in it, the next you’re second guessing! You get the idea!!

I just released The lead single a few weeks ago titled “Electric” It really embodies an 80s Electro feel. You can listen here:
