Hi, I am Rajeev Gupta. I run a fashion marketplace www.designerstown.com We provide a platform for Indian Fashion Designers and Fine Artist a platform to showcase their product and engage with the people and if anyone likes it, they can also buy the product on our website.

We encourage active conversation between designer and the customer so a customer can understand the design value of a product. We are focused on present the value enhancement and not just a safe transaction. For example: when creating a complex tailor made outfit like an Indian bridal dress in an virtual environment, our designers focus on customization of product to suit an individuals requirements. Moreover they guide a customer on how to take their measurements and what to avoid when doing that, so ensure they are as good as they would be if you are interacting with designer face to face.

Who has inspired you in your life and why?
My inspiration comes from my wife and my daughter. My wife is a very strong woman and provides objectivity and reality check to me. My daughter (5 yr old) puts life into perspective. The challenge of keeping 2 women happy is very inspirational, trust me.

What is your greatest achievement so far?
Getting some of the most inspiring designers on to my platform is highly satisfying. Today we have Ms Mahadevia, who is I think fashion world’s best kept secret. Her clutches are inspirational and has been choice of international celebrities and royalty for decades. A very private seller, she has now decided to reach the world. Her clientele includes Frieda Pinto, Maharanis, Madonna to name a few. At the same time we have N S & GAIA, very new talented designer label. Use classic material such as Ahimsa Silk, with strong sense raw natural beauty of North East India in their design and creating a social revolution by getting some of the few remaining skilled hand weavers of the material back into trade from unskilled and poor working conditions.

Do you have any tips for our readers that are trying to break in the industry?
