Interview with Rafi Chowdhury Eco Signs and Banners

Can you tell us what’s special about your brand/business?

With over 2 decades of experience in the printing industry, we now feel that we can offer excellent customer service and a quality product at an affordable price. Over the course of the last several years, we have spent countless amounts of money and research hours to establish the best in-house digital printing technology we can afford.  As a result, we have gained enough industry experience to know exactly what the customer needs and how we can efficiently produce that product for our customer. We have recently invested over $60k in getting the most cutting-edge printing technology (such as our wide-format printers) the industry has to offer, allowing us to create virtually anything the digital printing customers may have a need for. Apart from all of that, we have an amazing staff of employees who care for our customers and company and are well taken care of similarly. If you don’t believe me, just ask any of our employees 😉


What motivated you to start an eco-friendly business/brand?

We want to make buying eco-friendly printed products easier and more efficient for our younger generation if customers. For example, imagine this scenario: It’s a Tuesday morning; you are sipping coffee and working at your office. You are 24 years old and work for IBM. Suddenly, your boss comes in and says IBM is having a huge potluck dinner this weekend for all the employees and he needs a large banner to welcome all the employees to the dinner hall…

Well, as a busy developer for IBM, you simply cannot afford the time to look up some signs and banners companies in Memphis (or wherever IBM is located!), then pick up the phone, call, ask for specific details, etc. etc. You want to be able to simply hit a few keys and order your banner online from an ecommerce site such as! But you also care about the environment, right? So you want to buy eco-friendly products. So, that’s pretty much the main reason why we launched our new ecommerce site Eco Signs and Banners; to make young professionals’’ lives easier and more efficient when buying signs and banners over the internet. Our 2+ decades of industry experience tells us that the customer wants to quickly get exactly the item he or she wants without spending too much time discussing specific over the phone. Our online store very nicely takes care of all that and makes the process of buying a banner easy, seamless, and efficient.

What green issues are you most passionate about?

Well, when we developed our wide-format equipment, one of the first things we were concerned about was our employees’ work environment. Not only that, we also realized that our customers really care for the environment! We wanted to meet that need of our customers. So, we have chosen to only use environmentally friendly inks for all our banners and give the people what they love the most and care about. The equipment we chose enables us to operate without the fear of our ink releasing harmful gases into the atmosphere, creating an unsafe environment for our employees to work in. Enough of our customers are passionate about being friendly to the environment which supports us. The least we could do is join them in their efforts to leave the world a better place than we found it.

What advice would you have for other aspiring social and green entrepreneurs?

Figure out what footprints you would like for your company to leave behind in today’s atmosphere and environment. Then ask yourself, do you care about the world we live in? Do you care about the health and safety of your employees? Do you care about our future generations? Find the answers and then build a company or brand around the answers to these questions. Begin with the “Why” and end with the “What.” That’s all.
