Interview with photographer Simone Severo

I am currently working on a year round project called A Portrait a Day, I was just featured on Fox21 local news last week to promote the project.

Tell us about yourself and what you do
I am a people photographer. I specialize in capturing personality and creating very unique portraits that I call “honest” portrait.

Who has inspired you in your life and why?
My family has always been an inspiration but the love for photography I inherited from my grandpa who always had a camera in his pocket.

simone1What is your greatest achievement so far?
I became an American in 2011 and I am very proud of my new life. I am currently working on a year round project called A Portrait a Day, where I photograph an interesting person – a different person! – every single day of the year. I was just featured on Fox21 local news last week to promote the project. It is really important to me to keep on going with this project as I have 3 goals: to make new friends, to expand my network and to become a better photographer.
I see great growth from the beginning of the year to now.

Do you have any tips for our readers that are trying to break in the industry?
I believe in hard work, my family always told me to follow my dreams and I am working on them constantly.
