Interview with photographer Cayce Lou

I had the honor to interview photographer Cayce Lou. She is a talented upcoming photographer, her work is inspired by nature. She will feature her work during the upcoming Edmonton ARISE showcase on September 19th. You can purchase tickets for the show here:

How did you first get into photography?
It was always kind of a hobby of mine but when my dad bought me my first camera I really started to get into it but only focused on scenery photos. A few years ago one of my friends asked me to take maturity photos even though I had never done portraits of any kind. It turned out it was something I really enjoyed so I started exploring more into that aspect of photography.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learnt while getting “the shot”?

That planed photos never turn out. When you have certain ideas in your head for a good shot it very rarely turns out how you want it. I find that my best photos are ones just happen when we are just having fun and being ourselves.

What’s next for Cayce Lou Photography?
Probably getting my name out there more. I would like to do more shows and try more creative portraits.

What do you have planned for the upcoming Edmonton ARISE showcase on September 19th?

I want to showcase my different styles of photography and show my more creative side. Right now I’m finding different ways to frame my photos. I like to take elements from certain photo shoots and combine them with the photo.
