G-Shock is one of the most recognized and trusted brands in the world with many extremely passionate followers, so it made sense to dedicate an entire site to it.

What inspired you to start G-Central?
I’ve always been a big fan of Casio G-Shock watches and owned many over the years, but after 2008 I was having a rough time and I lost touch with what was going on in the G-Shock world. When I started getting back into it, so much had changed. With G-Shock and all of the new models, special editions, collaborations, and events, there is always so much to keep up with from many different sources around the world. I decided to start a blog to cover the new watches and any G-Shock-related news and information. It was a way to make sure I wouldn’t miss out on anything again, and also a chance to keep others informed and share the love of G-Shock.

gshock, watchWhat is your mission?
The mission of G-Central is to provide fans with the latest news about G-Shock, to help buyers choose the best watch for their needs, and to promote G-Shock watches to the world.

Why did you choose to focus only on G-Shock and not other watch brands too?
There is something special about G-Shock that inspires dedication and loyalty. It may have been a better idea to make a broader site covering more brands but the truth is I do not wear any other kind of watch. G-Shock is one of the most recognized and trusted brands in the world with many extremely passionate followers, so it made sense to dedicate an entire site to it. G-Central also covers the Casio Baby-G and Pro Trek brands which are related. Along with news for the hardcore fans, we also write shopping guides to make navigating and understanding the many different models easier for people who are new to G-Shock.

What is the current state of the G-Shock lineup?
G-Shock’s lineup is constantly evolving and expanding. Digital watches will always be a large part of the brand, but right now watches with very large cases and analog displays are very popular. We are also seeing more high-end models with advanced features like environmental sensors and GPS timekeeping. More expensive luxury models are being released, as well as new lines for women like the S Series.

What model would you recommend to a first-time G-Shock buyer?
For someone who wants a fashionable streetwear-style G-Shock, something in the analog GA-100 or GA-110 series or a GD-X6900 model if all-digital is preferred. For someone who wants the most features and the best value, the GW-9400 Rangeman. And for someone who wants a dressier-looking but affordable watch, something in the new G-STEEL series.
