Interview with David Burnell co-founder of Veteran Empire

The brands philosophy is to be on your own fucking program(OFP). In other words, think out the box and build your world.

Veteran Empire is a veteran-owned lifestyle brand that portrays military veterans in a new vibrant, positive light. I had the privilege to interview co-founder David Burnell. He served the country for 11 years in the United States Marine Corps back in the States he started a company called Veteran Empire (LLC).

What inspired you to start your brand?
Johnny Cupcakes http://johnnycupcakes.com/. He identified a lifestyle brand that was personal to him. At the time I was on Embassy Duty as a Marine and I saw that I could have a lifestyle brand that I was proud of. I was fit, I was invited to diplomatic type parties, high end restaurants, and I was well traveled.  I knew a hand full of buddies that were like me so I came up with a logo. Printed it and sent my t-shirts out to the other 144 + US Embassies. Told my friends to wear my shirt, take cool pics in the present country they were in. We went 0 to 100 real quick. *Drake voice

What is the brand’s philosophy?
The brands philosophy is to be on your own fucking program(OFP).  In other words, think out the box and build your world. My creative passion is acting so I went out there and I started acting.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?
A short film I starred in (PIGS) got selected to the Cannes Short Film Corner Festival 2015. I have been featured on CBS news And I auditioned for the Fox hit show EMPIRE with casting director Leah Daniels. (my positive energy will force her to call me back. lol)
