Tell us about yourself and what you do
I go by Chillz Muzik, I am a visceral lyricist, conscious hip-hop artist, a father, a vegan activist and an infinite being of this earth. Everyday I create from my heart and do what I love to do. I’ve created my lifestyle to match my passion and I am grateful for the gift of life. Music is in the core of my DNA and even when I’m not on stage, writing lyrics, or recording a song; i’m still incorporating music into everyday living. I use music much more than a career, it is a tool to heal and to feel the vibrations of the world.
Who has inspired you in your life and why?
My family is the biggest inspirations in my life. Getting to wake up to genuine love and smiling faces is something you can’t put a price tag on. They want me to succeed in all aspects of life and are constantly motivating me. From a musical perspective, Bob Marley has been the biggest influence on me. His music helped me reach a new level and took me away from negative energy. The sound and message he spread hit my soul so deeply it changed my life forever.
What is your greatest achievement so far?
Being able to truly recognize the beauty in life. Being able to authentically say I wake up grateful everyday. I come from the bottom, ya know. I didn’t have a’lot of money or guidance growing up and I almost died from heart related issues multiple times as a child. I was able to transform my life from that struggle. To now performing my music in front of thousands of people and bringing them inspiration and groovy vibes! I’ve shared the stage with some of my all time favorite artists and my songs have over 100 thousand streams…I get to create music whenever I want and truly live my passion!
Do you have any tips for our readers that are trying to break in the industry?
Yes, I got a few gems to share! You have to remain humble and always value a great opportunity over quick cash. Build healthy relationships, keep it real with yourself and your audience. There is going to be highs and lows but you have to stay consistent through it all and surf the rhythm of the earth. And finally to quote NBA player Joel Embiid, “Trust The Process”.
What can we expect from you this year?
Lot’s and lot’s of progression! I have a ton of great music coming soon. I just finished my second collaboration EP with Italy based production team GreenLab so that will be out this year. Currently creating new material with my long time partner in rhyme Jordan Harter…we got some vicious tracks ready go that are honestly going to propel us to new heights and national recognition. One track in particular that is coming very soon is called “A.O.K.” which is a collaboration with Sk814 Action Sports Park from our hometown Altoona, Pennsylvania. Also I’m going to be developing some progressive community projects to help the youth, and bring social awareness to overall health in my community.
