Interview with Church St. ATL

The formula for success in the music industry is to be genuine I think. Whether it’s good or bad, let it be you. Be original and real.

Tell us about your music
It’s mostly rap. Specifically, it’s stunt rap for those who understand what that means. Every now and then I’ll switch things up and release a slow-tempo love song but I try to focus on rapping and producing.

What do you like most about your profession?
I like that you get to work with other artists and build relationships based solely on music. I especially like working with local artists in my city.

What’s your favorite album from another artist?
I like the “Amazing Stories, Part 1” tape by LousyHumanBastards. That’s probably my favorite thing to listen to right now. I really think Shakir and Jabbar are the best rappers.

What song of yours are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of “USD To Rand”… I think I killed that song from the metaphors to the ad-libs to the auto-tuned mumbling in the beginning. I’d listen to it even if it wasn’t my song.

What is the formula for success in the music industry?
The formula for success in the music industry is to be genuine I think. Whether it’s good or bad, let it be you. Be original and real.
