Interview with actor, writer and director Josh Hawkins

Be willing to give you life to what it is you want to do.

Tell us about yourself and what you do
I am an Actor, writer and recent Director. I started in the industry just over four years ago, it’s been a rocky ride but I have made vast amounts of progress. Originally from London I came to New York to study acting at The Lee Strasberg institute and my career began from there. Auditioning and creating my own work was where my attention was fixed whilst studying, I now have agents and a manager which proved to get me on the next ladder of my career.

Who has inspired you in your life and why?
There are many great Artists that inspire me from Bob Dylan to Basquiat, but I would say my closest inspiration is Marlon Brando, his approach to the craft and willingness to push the unexpected really fuels my desire to want to keep getting better.

What is your greatest achievement so far?
I always feel like it’s whatever I am working on, as I have just finished an edit of a film that I Acted in and Directed, I would have to say that. I am really proud and confident that this will do well.

Do you have any tips for our readers that are trying to break in the industry?
