Interview with actor Robert Alex

Practice your craft, film your own stuff, write your own material, and be grateful for the people around you that believe in you. People close to you are very important, don’t take them for granted or when they are gone… You’ll realize you may have lost a diamond while you were busy collecting stones.

rpbertTell us about yourself
I am an actor, and decided to create my own material because I’m impatient and can’t just sit by the phone for projects. It’s something that I have to do everyday. I have sold 2 commercials and 1 Webisode that I starred in, to a major beer company in the past year. I also created an event called 33 films in 33 days where I gathered talented, and willing people to create 33 short films in 33 days.

What projects are you currently working on?
Currently, I just finished wrapping a short film that I wrote called ‘Monarch’ , directed by Trevor LaPaglia who is a genius, and produced by Scott Lewallen and myself. It also stars Casey Ruggieri, Collin McShane, and Vanessa C. Morgan who plays my loving wife. We’re crossing our fingers that it gets shown at every film festival. It’s a great film. Also working on a couple of pilots, and a feature film about a really sad road trip.

Do you have any tips for our readers that are trying to break in the industry?
My advice for anyone trying to break into the industry is to take matters into your hands. You have just as much power as anyone else. I realize things can get intimidating, and sometimes feel like you’re going nowhere. Practice your craft, film your own stuff, write your own material, and be grateful for the people around you that believe in you. People close to you are very important, don’t take them for granted or when they are gone… You’ll realize you may have lost a diamond while you were busy collecting stones.

Where can readers find you online?
You could follow my life on Twitter, or Instagram @worldofrobert They will showcase all of the Robert Alex Adventures. Www.WorldOfRobert.com or check out  33films33days.com ; not all of the films are on the site due to the exclusivity of some of the film festivals, but feel free to check out the non festival films.
