Interview with Vasiliki Dranias III founder of purpledivine.com

Other than my son, my greatest achievement is my newly published poetry collection, Blood is blue.

Tell us about yourself and what you do
My name is Vasiliki Dranias III—Kiki for short, and I am an epicurean. I started writing on a daily basis three years ago. My nine-year-old is the tour de force in my life, and I am now the Founder & President of purpledivine.com, an e-commerce website whose mission is to promote poetry and other beautiful and unique things.

Who has inspired you in your life and why?
Other than Nature, music and beautiful writing, I continue to be inspired by Ezra Pound: not only for having written my favorite poem (And The Days Are Not Full Enough), but mostly for the mind he had to lose—his—while on that ‘road less travelled’. The sitcom Seinfeld also had an impact on me. Because life, for me, is as brilliant as was tragic the fate of the Seinfeld characters. I also bow down to Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, and this for the poetry that continues to transpire—seamlessly, through the thread of his dark and natural cloth. And because I love the child in me, Batman and Charlie Brown will forever take away any frown.

What is your greatest achievement so far?
Other than my son, my greatest achievement is my newly published poetry collection, Blood is blue.

Do you have any tips for our readers that are trying to break in the industry?
To all aspiring writers: Publish and promote your own stuff, and become a part of the industry organically.
