How did you come up with the idea?
The idea for Attach-N-Wrap came to me one night while my husband and I joked about my bedtime headscarf; he explained he wanted to “see some hair”. It was then that I had my Ah-Ha moment! Inspired by our conversation, I invented this product that allows women to look fashionable at all times.
What inspired you to start your brand/business?
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I always had a desire to start my own business but I never had the courage to walk away from my corporate job. In 2012 my company at the time had a massive layoff and I lost my job. Shortly after the layoff, this idea came into fruition! I took a leap of faith and ran with the idea; I believe the layoff was God’s way of getting my attention and directing me towards my purpose.
What is the brand’s philosophy?
Attach-N-Wrap’s brand empowers women to embrace their inner beauty and confidence. Our products allow women to look their best everyday with quick and convenient hair fashion solutions. We believe when you look good, you feel good!
What are some challenges you have faced in developing this product?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was securing a manufacturing company to produce the product. As a startup business, it is very difficult to attract interest from factories. After cold calling hundreds of companies and networking within the industry, I was able to secure a contract with a manufacturing company. All our products are manufactured in Florida.
What has been your greatest achievement so far?
I’m most proud of building a brand of products that is both fashionable and solves a real problem for women. Our hair extension scarves are used for a variety of purposes: fashion wraps, protective styling, bad hair days, hair loss cover ups, and more.
What’s next for the brand?
