How to get better skin

lifestyle choices

A hectic daily life can wreak havoc on your skin. Pollution, stress, smoking and poor diet can all turn that youthful glow into a dry and dull complexion. You may not realize, but some of your lifestyle choices could be causing stress and damage to your skin. It’s all very well following a three-step skincare routine, but this alone can’t keep your skin supple and radiant. Getting better skin is simpler than you might think. So, if looking in the mirror fills you with despair, why not do something about it? Read on to find out how you can get better skin for good.

Lifestyle choices

Poor lifestyle choices and diet will wreak havoc on your skin. All those nights out and long hours in the office will make you lose your relaxed, healthy glow as soon as you get it. If you are a smoker, then think again. Smoking causes a breakdown in collagen, leading to wrinkling and premature aging. An electronic cigarette is a good alternative if you are trying to cut down, and offer a variety of vape flavors for you to choose from. While if your diet is full of processed and sugary foods, this could explain those nasty breakouts on your chin or forehead. Choose leafy greens and home cooked meals to provide your body with the nutrients that it needs. Your skin will soon be glowing!

Lack of shuteye

Our bodies need a certain amount of high-quality sleep to function. However, a lack of shuteye could also mean that your body isn’t managing to complete an essential number of biological processes that occur during sleeping hours. So, if you aren’t tucked up in bed at a reasonable time, think again; those puffy eyes and dull complexion will soon be a thing of the past.

Use Sunscreen

Even if you don’t live in a sunny climate all year round, ultraviolet rays can rapidly age your skin. From excess wrinkles to sun or age spots, if you aren’t slathering on the sunscreen then your skin is at risk. If you use a foundation, make sure that it has a good level of SPF protection. So, no matter your skin tone, it’s worth keeping your skin safe from those harmful rays.

Drink more fluids

Is your skin sallow and wrinkled? You might not be drinking enough water. If you find that the skin around your eyes puckers, then this is a sign your complexion needs some much-needed hydration. Make sure that you choose water or herbal teas over sugar-laden sodas or alcohol. Once your body is rehydrated this will be reflected in your skin.

Take your Makeup off at bedtime

No matter what time you get home, be sure to cleanse your face before hitting the sack. Climbing into bed before cleansing your skin from the day’s makeup, dirt and grime will result in spots and wrinkles. Lazy girls rejoice, you can use a facial wipe to get rid of any makeup. Now lie back and relax, you will be thankful in the morning.
