For British singer-songwriter Amanda, music has always been more than a passion; it has been the soundtrack to her life. From growing up surrounded by her parents’ record collection in the countryside of Cumbria, England, to performing at some of the UK’s most iconic venues, Amanda’s journey has been defined by dedication, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.
Her career began at an early age, performing her first solo at just four years old before going on to become the first contestant selected for the children’s edition of the hit UK television show Stars in Their Eyes in 2002. That moment helped launch a career filled with festival appearances, major performances, and opportunities to share the stage with artists including Westlife, Boyzone, Sugababes, McFly, and The Hoosiers.
While recording her debut solo project, Amanda was invited to join Boyzone’s sold-out reunion tour across the UK and Ireland, performing nightly to audiences of more than 15,000 people at venues including The O2, Wembley Arena, and Manchester’s MEN Arena.
Now based in Los Angeles, Amanda enters an exciting new chapter with her latest single, “Too Deep.” Blending infectious electronic production with emotionally driven songwriting, the track explores the intensity of infatuation, that moment when attraction becomes overwhelming and emotions begin to take over.
With collaborations alongside acclaimed producers and writers behind records for artists such as Beyoncé, Kehlani, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Céline Dion, Alicia Keys, and Aretha Franklin, Amanda continues to evolve as an artist, combining heartfelt storytelling with a modern electronic sound.
We sat down with Amanda to talk about her musical journey, her biggest career moments, her inspirations, and what’s next.
Your relationship with music began at a very young age. Where did that passion come from?
Music has always been a huge part of my life. Growing up in the countryside in Cumbria, England, I was surrounded by my parents’ record collection. They listened to so many different genres, and that really shaped my love for music. I remember dreaming about one day being the voice coming through those speakers. I actually performed my first solo at a local village concert when I was four years old, and that feeling of performing has stayed with me ever since.
In 2002, you became the first contestant selected for the children’s edition of Stars in Their Eyes. What was that experience like?
It was such a special moment for me. Being chosen as the first contestant was a huge opportunity and gave me so much confidence as a young performer. It opened doors and showed me that the dream I had as a child could become a reality.
You’ve performed alongside some incredible artists, including Westlife, Boyzone, Sugababes, McFly, and The Hoosiers. What are some of the career moments that stand out most?
There have been so many amazing experiences, but playing Wembley is definitely one of my greatest achievements. That was a bucket list moment for me, and I was lucky enough to accomplish it. I’ll never forget it.
You also joined Boyzone on their sold-out reunion tour while working on your debut solo project. What was it like performing to such huge audiences every night?
It was incredible. Performing at venues like The O2, Wembley Arena, and Manchester’s MEN Arena was something I’ll always be grateful for. Being on those stages and feeling the energy from thousands of people every night was unforgettable.
You’re now based in Los Angeles and releasing your new single “Too Deep.” What inspired the track?
“Too Deep” is about that moment when attraction becomes something more intense, when you fall for someone so quickly that your emotions start to outweigh your reason. It’s exciting, vulnerable, and a little chaotic. I wanted to capture that feeling of falling too fast while creating something that feels energetic and modern.
How would you describe the sound and emotion behind “Too Deep”?
I love blending emotional storytelling with contemporary production. For me, the feeling behind a song is everything. “Too Deep” has that combination of vulnerability and excitement. It’s a song about being swept away by a feeling while still having that euphoric energy that makes you want to move.
You’ve collaborated with writers and producers connected to some of the biggest names in music. What have those experiences taught you?
Every collaboration teaches you something new. Working with people at that level has been incredibly inspiring. You learn from how they approach songwriting, production, and creativity, and it pushes you to keep growing as an artist.
Who are some of your biggest musical inspirations?
There are so many, but Sade is a huge inspiration for me. I love the timelessness of her music and the emotion she brings to every song. Recently, I’ve also been loving Naomi Sharon and Alina Baraz.
What advice would you give to aspiring artists who are trying to build a career in music?
My biggest tip would be to keep going and enjoy the journey, because that’s where you need to be comfortable. The journey is where you learn, grow, and develop as an artist. It’s important to appreciate every step along the way.
What can fans expect from you next?
This is such an exciting chapter for me. I’m continuing to create music that feels authentic and represents who I am as an artist today. I’m excited to share more music and continue this journey with everyone who supports me.
