Interview with Amanda Park founder of Park and Buzz Jewelry

Our greatest achievement so far is growing from a kitchen table to now 4 employees and proudly being able to support 32 orphans in Kenya and give to numerous other local charities and fundraising events.

I had the privilege to interview Amanda Park founder of the jewelry company Park and Buzz. Her jewelry collection is one of a kind, colorful, elegant and made by hand. I love how she combines the semi precious stones she uses in her collection. Amanda is a great inspiration for moms that want to turn their dreams into reality. Combining being a mom and successful entrepreneur, she also has a passion coaching other entrepreneurs along the way. Amanda believes in giving back and donates locally and internationally for various fundraisers and charity. Read the interview to find out more about her and how her jewelry line came to fruition.

What inspired you to start your own jewelry collection?
I initially was working as a professional actress on commercials, TV series, TV movies and feature films. However, with the 14+ hour days I never saw my 3 children, all whom were still all under the age of 3 at the time. I went to work when they were still sleeping and when I got home they were fast asleep. I realized no amount of money will ever buy me that time back with them so I quit the film industry and decided to stay home with them full time. I still needed a creative outlet so I started painting and selling and shipping them all over the world from a little online store.

I had a couple month long art shows where I was the featured artist and on the opening night of one of those shows I brought a few pieces of jewelry that I had created to see if they would sell. And sell they did! Mostly sold out that night I realized I was maybe on to something. So I continued to create pieces and so I had a bit of a pile so I decided to try and ask a store if they would be interested in carrying my line, which I had named Park and Buzz. They saw it and said yes enthusiastically. My jewelry quickly sold out of that shop and so I kept creating. Adding one store after another.

What is the brand’s philosophy?
Our philosophy was really to be able to offer high quality jewelry at a reasonable price. I want every woman to be able to afford to shine and be able to express themselves.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?
Our greatest achievement so far I would say is growing from a kitchen table to now 4 employees and proudly being able to support 32 orphans in Kenya ( which we plan to increase that number ) and give to numerous other local charities and fundraising events. I love how I am able to help people through what I do. We have around 50 or so stores, but what I love most is meeting so many amazing people through this journey and creating real and lasting friendships.
